Zenyk Art Gallery invites you to a lecture by Karina Davydova “Outsider Art” — about art that is born not according to the rules, but from an inner need to create. Art brut, or outsider art, arises where there is no academic education, artistic canons or desire to meet expectations. This is the art of sincere gesture, personal history and boundless freedom.

During the lecture, we will learn how this direction appeared, why the works of outsider artists are exhibited in the most famous museums in the world today and what makes them so strong and relevant. We will talk about iconic authors, the history of their works, the Ukrainian context and discover new meanings of the exhibition “OURS”.
