Zenyk Art Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Roman Opalynskyi — a Ukrainian artist working in an ornamental style.
The exhibition “Angelia” is an imaginary land of Angels, depicted by the artist on his canvases.
Angelia — Angel and I — the land of Angels.
With his exhibition “Angelia,” Roman Opalynskyi rethinks this sacred figure in a contemporary context, endowing angels with human qualities: concerns, labor, the rhythm of life, and the ability to gather and transmit ideas.
For the artist, the creative process is defined as a state of constant movement, where no work ever reaches a final point. Elements of earlier pieces are integrated into new compositions, forming a network of visual “puzzles” — multilayered combinations of memory, experience, and imaginative thinking.
