Zenyk Art Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Oleksandr Honcharuk — a Ukrainian sculptor, associate professor, and PhD in Art Studies.
The artist works in the mediums of monumental and easel sculpture, including artworks for urban spaces, portraits, reliefs, memorial sculptural compositions, and exhibition-oriented art objects, using bronze, marble, stone, synthetic materials, and more. By experimenting with various forms of expression, he reveals the character of the object in his works and skillfully embodies his ideas in material.
The exhibition “Straight Turns” delves into the nature of life paths, which are far from simple or linear.
It invites viewers to reflect on how we move through life—often changing direction, stumbling and falling, yet sometimes finding the strength to rise again and seek a new route. Each of us walks a unique path shaped by constant decision-making, overcoming obstacles, and accepting choices that transform our destiny.
The exhibition’s theme highlights the importance of these transitional moments, for it is through experience and reevaluation that we gain new insights and change, forming a renewed identity. It also emphasizes the process of inner growth, when we begin to understand who we truly are, what is genuine for us, and what is merely external influence.
