The exhibition “HE: Taras Shevchenko. The Artist” at Zenyk Art Gallery welcomed more than 53,000 visitors during its first six weeks, setting a new attendance record in the gallery’s history.
This achievement was also highlighted by Forbes Ukraine, which recognized the exhibition as one of the most successful cultural projects in Ukraine today. Forbes also noted that attendance at ZAG surpassed that of one of the country’s leading exhibition venues, the Ukrainian House, where the exhibition “Alla Horska. Boryviter” attracted 51,000 visitors over the same period.
“HE: Taras Shevchenko. The Artist” opened on 20 February 2026 and welcomed nearly 10,000 visitors during its first week. The exhibition is built around 58 original artworks from the collection of the Taras Shevchenko National Museum, offering visitors an opportunity to discover Shevchenko not only as a poet, but above all as an artist of European significance. The exhibition’s success is driven not only by the rarity and importance of the artworks, but also by its contemporary exhibition design, interactive elements, innovative curatorial approach, and fresh interpretation of Shevchenko’s artistic legacy.
