About exhibition

We invite you to immerse yourself in the Christmas atmosphere from December 23 to January 12 at the exhibition “Christmas” at ZENYK ART GALLERY (3rd floor).

The exhibition unfolds in three parts — Trinity, Bread, and Nativity Scene — reflecting the core meanings of Christmas: faith, the gift of life, and shared celebration.

Trinity

The Trinity brings light into the home as a sign of God’s living presence within the family circle. Three flames form a harmony between separation and unity, between the human and the divine. In this balance, the Trinity becomes a symbolic bridge between Earth and Heaven, joined on Christmas night through the birth of Christ.

Bread

What is most precious on Earth finds its echo in Heaven. Bread on the Christmas table becomes a symbol of beginning and renewal — a moment where human labor meets divine blessing. It embodies life as a gift, passed from hand to hand and from generation to generation.

Nativity Scene

The project “Nativity Scene 2025” brings together sacred narrative, bird symbolism, and suprematist geometry, transforming the traditional nativity display into a conceptual installation. In 2025, the Ukrainian Christmas nativity is reinterpreted through the avant-garde legacy of Kazimir Malevich — a Ukrainian artist, philosopher, and theorist of form, whose work gains particular relevance in the year of his commemorative anniversary.

The exhibition “Christmas” is an original ZAG project, complemented by works by Nataliia Pavliuk and Tetiana Rusetska dedicated to the theme of the Trinity. “Nativity Scene 2025” was developed by the Department of Visual Design and Art at Lviv Polytechnic National University, under the direction of Viktor Shtets and Roksoliana Kvasnytsia.
