From August 28 to September 20, ZAG Studio will host an exhibition that will bring together the works of 30 Ukrainian artists from two Canadian art centers – the Ukrainian Union of Fine Artists of Canada (USOC) and the Canadian-Ukrainian Art Foundation (CUAF).
“Voices” is a conversation about art as a way to be heard across distance, time, and generations. Each work becomes a separate voice – the voice of a person, memory, place, trauma, love, and resistance.
The exhibition presents paintings, sculptures, and graphics by artists of different generations, including works by artists who are no longer with us. Their works continue to speak, preserving the memory and experience of Ukrainians who created and continue to create far from Ukraine.
“Voices” is a polyphony of different artistic voices united by one right – the right to be heard.
