"Hutsulshynia in the Focus of Art" Lecture by Stefania Andrusiak

Zenyk Art Gallery invites you to a lecture by Stefania Andrusiak "Hutsulshchyna in the Focus of Art" - about artists for whom the Hutsulshchyna has become not only a place of life, but also a source of their own artistic language, images and worldview. At the center of the conversation is the figure of Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit, one of the most original Ukrainian artists of the 20th century. The artist, photographer, writer and folklorist from Kryvorivna created a unique creative world in which Hutsul culture, spirituality, nature, memory and personal experience are intertwined.
During the lecture, we will talk about Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit and other artists of the Hutsulshchyna, we will trace how this region shaped their creativity and how traditional culture received a new interpretation in art.
