ZAG invites you to the final event of the exhibition “HE: Taras Shevchenko. Artist” — an author’s meeting with the director and curator of ZAG, Doctor of Art History, Professor of the National Academy of Fine Arts of Ukraine Khrystyna Beregovska.
“30 Steps to Shevchenko” is the story of the creation of one of the largest exhibition projects about Taras Shevchenko in Ukraine. The story of what usually remains invisible to the visitor: the first ideas, work with museum collections, complex negotiations, logistics, installation, curatorial decisions, challenges and unexpected discoveries.
How is a major exhibition born during the war? How to work with a figure that seems familiar to everyone, and at the same time rediscover it? How to show Shevchenko not only as a symbol, but as a living artist and person?
During the meeting, Khrystyna Beregovska will guide guests through the creation of the exhibition — from the first idea to the final space that thousands of visitors saw. This will be a candid conversation about art, curatorial work, and the process that usually remains behind the scenes.
Date: June 26 | 6:30 PM
Duration: ~ 1 hour
Cost: UAH 350 (price includes admission to the exhibition)
The number of places is limited.
